Create Lab’s Academic Advisory Board Member, Prof. Ken Kahn, from the University of Oxford will be conducting a special class for our students on artificial intelligence, advanced programming and speech recognition technologies with Google Cloud.

Class Description

Today, Apps that listen, speak and think are made by professional programmers. This workshop will enable students to create programs that respond to verbal commands, generate and speak sentences using the power of the Cloud and artificial intelligence.

At the end of the program, students would be able to:

• Understand the basic concepts of Artifical Intelligence and working with the Cloud
• Appreciate the power of Cloud Computing
• Harness the power of AI and Cloud Computing to develop a simple computing expression

Course Instructor

Prof. Ken Kahn is a member of Create Lab’s Academic Advisory Board and a Senior Research Scientist at the University of Oxford. He has had various teaching positions at MIT, Stanford, NUS and many other highly ranked global institutions. He was also a consultant to the Rand Corporation and IBM. Ken is a pioneer in Computational Thinking, artificial intelligence and technology enhanced learning, with a particular focus on programming languages for children. Ken is currently part of the European Union’s Education Department working on a project to improve STEAM education for primary and secondary schoolers. He has also contributed to the BBC, London Knowledge Lab and Institute of Education on technology enhanced learning.

Materials Provided

All Create Lab learning resources, tablet and laptop computers, micro-controllers and other technology tools will be provided
