Description
This programme brings the power of this highly versatile Python programming language to students in a fun, visual & easy-to-learn manner. Students initiate their learning journey using ‘Turtle’ & synchronise syntax with prior exposure to block-based languages. Their programming skills are then enhanced through challenges customised to harness their creativity.
What will my child learn?
- Appreciate the importance of text based languages
- Understand computer science concepts like user input, variables, loops, conditionals, & data manipulation (lists, strings, numbers, Boolean, etc)
- Solve various challenges like developing Fibonacci series, playing with odd / even number series, understand and develop logic in different puzzles
- Independently develop games like HangMan, Rock Paper Scissors, Guess the numbers, etc that can be played by other users
- Appreciate how debugging the your own or your friends’ programs leads to a higher understanding of computer programming concepts
- Learn to solve challenges under time pressure and in a pseudo competitive environment with various quiz based games
- Display creative confidence to present and share your programs with peers, friends, and family
What will my child create?
- Build various guided and independent programs, to understand & apply Python syntax and programming basics
- Solve challenges of varying complexity to refresh and extend programming concepts learnt
- Develop programs and games to understand and enjoy the learnings in Python
- Develop Algorithms, create flowcharts and use the knowledge to solve puzzles and develop complex programs in Python
- Develop, present and share the projects with friends and family.

Duration: 15 classes of 60 minutes each*

On-campus delivery
Duration: 10 classes of 90 minutes each*
Student-teacher ratio: 5 students per teacher, or less

What is the journey a Create Lab student embarks upon?
The focus of our programmes is to empower 21st Century Skills: Creativity, Critical Thinking, Communication & Collaboration. Initially, we used Scratch as a platform to enable this. Subsequently, we also use tools and languages like MIT’s App Inventor, HTML 5, Python, etc. to enable students to create more sophisticated technology expressions, like apps, advanced games, websites, etc.
What are online classes? Why are they needed?
Online classes are fully interactive classes done through live video conferencing between the instructor and student. The instructor can see the student’s screen and provide feedback in real-time. The platform enables online quizzes too. Online classes complement our popular centre-based classes and are gaining interest in the current environment, where social distancing is preferred.
Who develops your programmes?
All our programmes are developed together with academics from Oxford, MIT & Singapore’s top universities. Our Academic Board has over 85 years of pioneering technology experience, has given TED talks and holds patents in areas such as artificial intelligence.

Individual online classes
By enrolling on a Create Lab conducted course, the student and his/her guardians acknowledge and agree to Create Lab’s Terms and Conditions as specified below.
- Enrolment, withdrawal, and refunds:
- Enrolment is confirmed, after Create Lab has received the course fees in full
- We allow our students to withdraw within the first two classes of the course registered. In such cases, the balance fees (net of fees for classes done) will be refunded in full
- No refunds will be processed after the student has completed the first two classes of the registered course
- Transfer to a different Create Lab course shall be enabled, at Create Lab’s discretion and on a case-by-case basis.
- Promotional codes cannot be combined with other existing or ongoing promotions unless specifically allowed by Create Lab
- Class rescheduling policy:
- Students can reschedule their class 2 times, for every block of 10 classes, provided Create Lab has informed a minimum of 12 hours in advance
- Rescheduling at shorter notice, will be at the discretion of Create Lab and be done on a case-by-case basis
- No shows (where a student does not log in at the scheduled time) will be considered as a completed class, and no makeup class will be scheduled. We will instead provide the student with digital reference materials from the class
- Create Lab reserves the right to update instructor allocation, course fees, course duration and curriculum content as deemed appropriate or necessary
- Create Lab may take video recordings of the class and its students for educational, training and/or promotional purposes. If you wish for you or your child to not be featured in any educational, training and/or promotional materials, please send us an email at hello@mycreatelab.com
- During a class, our instructor may need to remotely access your child’s computer, to troubleshoot any issue that may come up in class. This will only be done after specifically seeking your child’s permission and the remote access will be disabled as soon as the issue is resolved. You agree and consent to us and our instructors to gain remote control of your child’s screen in the class.
Group Online classes
By enrolling on a Create Lab conducted course, the student and his/her guardians acknowledge and agree to Create Lab’s Terms and Conditions as specified below.

Create Lab’s decision on the amount is final.
